Threats: a statement or intention to cause death or bodily harm to any person or animal or to cause damage to property.


Harassing Communications: Someone who without lawful excuse and with intent to harass another person communicates with a person by means of telecommunications (i.e. Harassing phone calls, harassing texts/messages/posts).

Please note that the following threats cannot be accepted online:

  • If you have ever been or are currently involved in an intimate relationship with the person responsible for the harassing communications (i.e. boyfriend, girlfriend, spouse)
  • If there is a threat of immediate bodily harm or immediate threat to property
  • If the threat is motivated by bias, prejudice or hate based on colour, race, religion, nation or ethnic origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or mental or physical disability
